The first stop for anyone interested in top end brands is the Avenida da Liberdade. Hugo Boss, D&G, Tods, Burberry and Louis Vuitton, to mention only a few, are all represented here. There are also interesting high end local stores here, and “flagship” stores of less elevated brands, such as Lanidor, which has a beautiful store and restaurant/cafe here. If you like your brands located conveniently together, you could also consider the Amoreiras shopping centre. A little off the beaten tourist track, and in what was, in the nineteen eighties, highly praised post-modern architecture, but which now seems dated, there are several big name stores, such as Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Dunhill and Comptoir des Cotonniers, and some internationally lesser known, but just as interesting stores. Also a good place for fine food, such as at the Pão de Açúcar Gourmet store, and chocolates, in all the types you could imagine, at Cacao Sampaka.
The second stop should be Chiado. Here one finds fewer big name brands clustered together, but Hermés, for example, has its store here. Wander around Chiado and you’ll find some of the finest furnishing, jewellery, antiques and clothing stores in Portugal.
