Portugal is famous for its golf courses and there are twelve highly rated examples of the country’s finest in the Lisbon area. Most of the best are in the triangle between Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra, and many of Lisbon’s hotels can organise golfing packages on request. These larger hotels and the golf courses themselves sell golf passes for several rounds, which usually works out cheaper than paying for individual rounds. Another way of saving on course fees is to play during the week or late afternoon, when prices are often reduced. The last week of October and the beginning of November welcomes international professional golfers to Estoril's major courses for its International Golf Week, held over several courses.
