Lisbon’s Nightlife |
Lisbon's nightlife is considered to be among the best in Europe, although it consists not only of clubbing, but also of socialising over drinks. Lisboetas are a gregarious bunch and love going out in this city with no shortage of bars, theatres, discos and Fado clubs. Usually a good night out lasts until the early hours of the next morning, given that the majority of bars close at 02:00 and clubs are open until 06:00 or sometimes even later. The four main areas to consider when going out are Alcântara, Santos, Bairro Alto and Docas. In Alcântara/Santos the atmosphere is quite lively, with many night clubs to choose from. You might also want to relax at the mellower Blues Cafe or the Speakeasy. Bairro Alto/Chiado has always been a favourite among nightlife revellers, and Incognito is one of the favourites. Docas is one of the liveliest nightlife areas, full of trendy bars, restaurants and nightclubs, such as Buddha for those who enjoy Deep House, or Op Art for the über sophisticated crowd. |
