Madeira Climate |
As you land on the island of Madeira, the numerous cruise ships, palm trees and banana trees on the island indicate the kind of climate you are bound to find during your holiday. The people of Madeira will often show how proud they are of their sunny days. They have reason to be, as it is common to find the sun shining and moderate temperatures throughout the year. Generally, Funchal is the area of the island that sees less rain. If you look up at the mountains you’ll see the typical lush green flora found on tropical islands. This indicates the island does have rain, giving it the healthy and nurtured look. You can see on the chart below that the Winters here don’t generally see temperatures below 13ºC, neither do they rise in Summer above 25ºC. This allows Madeira to be a destination where you can spend most of your holiday out in the fresh air, making the most of life outdoors. The numerous golf courses, pleasant walks, swimming pools, boat trips and many other activities available on the island can be practised throughout the whole year. Furthermore, check out the number of daylight hours in the second chart. Even during the cooler months, you can enjoy many hours of daylight. Temperature Average Cº
